Haworthia turgida come from Cape Province, South Africa. They form rosetes with glassy green leaves. They become reddish in strong light. Turgida form small clusters quickly. They can be grown indoors on a windowsill. Haworthias are winter growers thus summer dormant. Require very porous soil with excellent drainage as many forms have thickened tap roots. Prefer filtered, bright light. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Protect from frost.
