Senecio fulgens

Senecio fulgens is a small subshrub with serrated, obovate leaves of silvery gray. Native to Natal. Basal stem becomes swollen somewhat like a caudiciform. Can be used as a bonsai subject. Flower is typical of Compositae (Aster family), with pom-poms comprised of tiny red-orange flowers. Porous soil with adequate drainage. Bright light with ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Less water during winter months. Protect from frost.
