Senecio crassissimus

Senecio crassissimus, native to Madagascar, forms small subshrubs to 30" in height. Multiple stems with flattened obovate leaves to 2" long, narrowing at both tips. Leaves are glaucous gray, with a purple margin in strong light. Yellow "pom-pom" flowers typical of the Compositae. Porous soil with adequate drainage. Bright light with ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Less water during winter months. Protect from frost.
