| The top of this plant broke when moving a year ago. That was not a bad thing because as you can see it now has many branches. | |

| Caudiciforms have a bulbous caudex, (thick stem) where they store water. Although adeniums are succulents they are like tropicals in summer requiring lots of water. In hot
weather when they are flowering and have lots of leaves. Be careful not to give so much water
as to rot the roots but water generously and allow to dry out. Fertilize during growing season.
If they become leggy, cut the stem at a pleasing height forcing it to branch out. Frost sensitive!
Fertilize during growing season. If they become leggy, cut the stem at a pleasing height forcing it
to branch out. They are Frost sensitive! In winter 2006, I had to cut back many of my adeniums because they were damaged in the frost. Though my decision to cut was based on frost, I learned how forgiving and how beautiful they returned branching out and becoming fuller more interesting plants. Adeniums grow to about 6.5' and are from Kenya, Zimbabwe and Tanzania. |
